House Vadalis

House Vadalis is a human dragonmarked house that operates throughout Khorvaire. Their headquarters are at Foalswood in the Eldeen Reaches, where the Mark of Handling originally appeared about 2,000 years ago. The house's most significant trade is in the breeding and training of animals.

Overview

House Vadalis is one of the only Houses that is on the decline after the Last War. While many people still require work animals in the day-to-day, the elite no longer look to Vadalis for their impressive mounts and have turned instead to the inventions of House Orien, Lyrandar, and Cannith. However, one still cannot deny the splendor and awe of watching a magebred Vadalis horse sprinting at nearly 70mph.

House Vadalis possesses the Mark of Handling which grants them special arcane abilities relating to the handling of animals. How they breed, train, and enhance animals is carefully guarded and it is said that each horse has three 'mancers that tend to their training so that each one doesn't know the entire process.

House Industry

Once, Vadalis was the most powerful House in Khorvaire, providing powerful mounts to czars and kings. Now, however, Vadalis has settled comfortably into the animal trade and animal sport arena. The name Vadalis still holds much sway as an old titan of the world and the name Vadalis will forever spell quality in the animal handling industry.
