The Last Royals refers to the royal family of Cyre between 960 and 994 YK. While the true Wynarn royal family is a large, splintering family tree at this point, generally the Royal Family refers to the ruling family of Cyre.
The Family
At the end of the Last War, the tragedy of the Mourning wiped out all but one of the Cyran royal family, effectively ending the direct line of Galifar the I. They are now referred to as the "Last Royals".

Of the Last Royals, only Konstantin survived the Mourning. He now leads the refugees of Cyre in New Cyre, BR.
History
Tsar Alexandrov took over the rule of the Galifarian Empire at the age of 18 from his Mother, Tsarina Tatyana Inessa Gweondoline ir'Wynarn upon her death in 960 YK. Many were worried about his ability to rule as Alexandrov had proved to be more interested in philanthropic endeavors than war. People wanted a tsar with an iron fist to help put down the insurrection from Karrnath and offensives from Thrane. However, Alexandrov proved to be an intelligent and caring leader who was smart enough to marry someone who could handle the parts of the war that he lacked in.
In 962 YK, Alexandrov married Katyrina Oleska, a noble and daughter of the Defense Secretary. She became Katyrina Sofia Charlotte ir'Wynarn and while Alexandrov saw after the welfare of the people, she turned her strategic mind to winning the war and maintaining the status and stature of the royals.
The family grew, beginning with the birth of their eldest, Konstantin in 966. Next came Natalya, then Vladimir, and finally the young twins Tatyana and Fyodora. Of these children, Konstatin had begun his grooming to succeed Alexandrov, with the second child, Natalya, trained for combat and war.
The Mourning
On the day of the Mourning, according to reports leading up to the day, the entirety of the Last Royals family was located in the capital of Metrol. While no eye-witness accounts exist of the details of the event in Metrol itself, it can be assumed that the Mourning came just as swiftly and suddenly as elsewhere in Cyre.
The Tsar and Tsarina perished along with all of their children, save one. Although he has been asked on numerous occasions, Konstantin will not say exactly how he escaped from the city and the Mourning itself, offering only cryptic remarks that he has defended by saying that "if this event was not a natural disaster, I would not like to offer those responsible a means of perfecting their attack so that next time, I may not be so lucky."
New Cyre
By the end of the war, Cyre and Breland had begun to share a healthy alliance. After the events of the Mourning, governor Dakota Tyhge offered the settlement of Westin as a refugee camp for Cyrans. Eventually, this became New Cyre, as decreed by Konstantin. Though he is the only royal left, Konstantin has refused the title of tsar or even king after the dissolution of the Galifarian Empire. Instead, he insists on being designated as a governor making him a government leader instead of a royal.
