Vax the Valorous

Vax is a shifter man and Storm sorcerer. As a player character, he is played by EJ Wagner.

Description

Appearance

Vax (when he isn't in the midst of a con) wears a white suit with a green overcoat and white cowboy boots. He has medium length blonde hair that he usually keeps up in a bun. While adopting the persona of Dax Shepard, Vax dons a fake mustache and hunches over, using his trademark cane to assist walking. On a number of occasions, Vax's level of body hair has been a topic of discussion, but it's accepted that he is generally hairy, but not overly so.

Swiftstride Shifter

While Vax is shifted, his blue eyes flood with yellow and become slit like a cat's. His nails and teeth elongate, his hair grows slightly, and he adopts a more primal stance.

Personality

Vax is bold, loud, and boastful. He spends a great deal of time claiming outrageous achievements in order to display his status. While he has shown himself to be a capable 'mancer, he tends to avoid conflict if at all possible. His first instinct seems to be self-preservation above all else, but he does seem to care about his new companions, even going so far as to keep Dr. Turk company and listen to his worries and fears.

Vax has various con personalities that he uses to gain favor, entry to otherwise blocked locations, and numerous other things.

Biography

Background

Vax claims to have achieved an incredible amount of things in his past, none of which can be confirmed. However, at some point in his past, Vax seems to have gone through some kind of trauma as he believes that persons unknown might be "after him".

Pre-Campaign

Vax decided to take the Lightning Rail to Sharn, BR in order to try to find work for a decent wage. He purchased tickets in the sleeper car to travel there.

Campaign

Session 1: The 13th House

While traveling on the rail, Vax adopted the guise of Dax Shepard, an elderly human male and noble. It wasn't until after the rest of the occupants fought off the Rail Raiders and the train was secured that he revealed his true identity and introduced himself as Vax the Valorous.
While out at the Velvet Curtain cabaret in Sharn, Vax met a shifter performer named Arianna and revealed to her that he too was a shifter. They exchanged information after conversing for most of the evening.

Session 2: An Unexpected Guest

After the Foundation fought off Operative V on the Leveebreaker, Vax made the rest of the Foundation promise to protect him as "they're probably after me now."

Session 5: Shadow, Rake, and Flame

On the Lightning Rail trip to Aundair, Vax opened up to Marcella and Bal about being a shifter and his expertise in forgery and con work.
