Session 29 - A Web of Treasure
General Summary
Session begins 18th of Ofelya(mid winter)
Feast Day(Day of the Sun)(Sabbath) - Moon; Waxing Gibbous
Beginning in the The Saucy Tart; adventuring parties are growing restless in the winter months. It is Feast day, there is little feasting going on due to the food shortage (see Maggots in the Food)
As members of the unknown gather to plan for their next excursion Fulb Petcher is approached by Ser Haldric de Luisignon he confides in Fulb that The Red Bannermen were not truly successful of their rout against The Howling Horde.
He confirms rumors of a dragon inside the location known as Howling Horde Cave. Additionally, he mentions some hooded "cultists" were found in the tunnels that lead to the dragon cave. The forces of chaos are growing bold indeed.
Members of the unknown set off to the caves to "kill some goblins and find the dragon".
Heavy winds from the Forbidden Zone drive hard to the west obscuring tracks of recent travel. large grey clouds loom in the distance. Traveling through HEX - 0712 the party finds a small scout camp of the Howling Horde goblins. This camp includes (3) goblins and an emaciated bound goblin dog. Using incredible stealth and planning, they defeat the goblins and save the wolf. Through compassion making a connection with the wild yet trained and beaten beast.
Snow begins to fall; they continue into a maze of snow-laden pine trees, canopies sagging low making quiet travel a slow task. They approach near the Howling Horde Cave but hear chanting and drum beating coming from the direction of The Mighty Oak.
Advancing to the The Mighty Oak following a deer path through the pine trees and spiderwebs. At the end of the path finding a living spider's nest nearly 150' across, the recent snowfalls have created a domed quilt work of rime-covered spiderwebs that embodies a living cacoon around the under-canopy of the Mighty Oak. The light here is grey and washed out, in the faint grey wash they can see several figures. A farmer bound to a pike via spider silk. A goblin shaman, (3) goblin dancers, and (3) goblin musicians.
A hard-fought battle occurs. Death is close at hand for all, when Nimbus spots gold and glory at the base of the Mighty Oak. A horde of treasure has been gathered. The party pushes their luck and manages to escape death with some treasure. Much is left behind and the spider still lives to guard the horde.

- The Mighty Oak is far more ominous since first sighted.
- Bobbles and bones tied to the tree now also include hanging metal cages with frozen corpses of local farmers.
- A great spider lair and living cacoon now surrounds the Mighty Oak.
- The Goblins were only temporarily runoff from the cave, they have brazenly returned after the efforts of The Red Bannermen
- A treasure hord still remains at the base of the Mighty Oak.
- Fulb Petcher has brought back a goblin dog through the gates of Eastdale, he will be held responsible for the beast, its needed care and actions. In time the beast may become valuable in the fight against the goblins he claims.
- A local farmer has been saved. (No interaction with this character due to time)
