A captain can be a naval captain or a military captain, its someone who has gotten there over time or brought the title with coin, but its normally linked to a profession

Captain of Leviathan Hunters tend to be a member of the family who owns that ship, they may appoint one. The merchant captains very rarely own their ships they are employed by The North Hook Company, smugglers may own their own ships

Must be confered by the previous captain or employed by the ships owner
