Outskirts
The Heart of The Rebellion
Where do we live? We live in Outskirts. No one dares to go any farther into the Quarantine usually. Only a foolish man would want to, and only a dead man would go.Interview with the Denizens of the Quarantine: Gignō
Geography
If one were to travel far, far away from the civilized lands, they would eventually see a progression from a desert hellhole to land that's a little more lively. Plants will become commonplace, small animals scurry about, and Jeds drag themselves from their nests.
Looking outwards from the Gingō tower you can see the plant life get thicker and thicker, before what seems to be large hills sprouting up.
If you were to look closer, you would notice the surrounding caverns that have been mostly overgrown over time.
Fauna & Flora
Close to the border of Outskirts there's mostly dry shrubberies scattered about with some patches of grass. The further you go into Outskirts, the thicker the foliage gets. Under thick bushes, Jeds make their nests underground and chew on the roots for sustinence.
A hated fungus exists in Outskirts, and many Zinc have taken to calling it Pūzo, or Trickster, as it can release spores that cause hallucinations in most people.
Aside from Jeds (parasitic creatures that the Film believe have some religious significance), the area is populated by firecattle (an odd cross between cattle and fireflies) and hounds (doglike creatures with no eyes, horns sprouting from their shoulders, and razor-sharp teeth).
Natural Resources
One of Outskirts' greatest exports is Pūzo, and the number one buyers are the Quara for reasons unknown. Other exports include papyrus, herbs, and spices. Despite there not being much in the way of cities, there has been a guild of merchants who harvest such resources. They are referred to as the Cukamunga, and each caravan or tribe has at least two members of this guild with them at all times.
