Jarstylaxan
Little is known about the Red Dragon who nested in the caldera ruins north of Aerth. We can only guess to his age, but he seemed to be a young-adult, perhaps just over 100 years of age. Were he still alive, surely Jarstylaxan would tell you about how he was a regal and magnificent creature, an exemplar of his kind and one of the true rulers of the Realm. And he surely would have believed that, too. Much of the dragon's identity was wrapped up in the mythic ideal of a red dragon. He had probably been told stories and tales of terrible red dragons and how the creatures were the apex of dragon-kind, and how superior they were to all living things. Having a tribe of kobolds worshipping you as a living god might also go to your head a bit.
While he definitely had delusions of grandeur, and likely didn't have much real experience in...dragoning(?)...at the end of the day Jarstylaxan was still a Red Dragon, and was a formidable foe.
The city of Aerth was, in antiquity, a Dwarven made stronghold with the express purpose of withstanding dragonfire. Surely, the ancient Dwarves would not build such a structure if it was not needed...but was it built to withstand Jarstylaxan? Perhaps not...
