Mazarad

A Drow Priestess of Helmogog, Mazarad is cruel, conniving, contemptuous, callous, and a bit of another C word.

Raised in Drulas-Khanath, Mazarad was a member of a minor royal house which was subsequently destroyed after a failed bid for power. Mazarad escaped the slaughter of her family and fled into the Underdark. She wandered the tunnels near the Darkglass Sea, and was eventually captured by a duergar slave-trader near The Rift.

The slavers, led by the brigand Rake, were eager to ransom the highborn Drow back to her family. They were none too pleased when they discovered that her house was destroyed, leaving none to pay them.

The slaver's caravan was bound for the Duergar stronghold Darkhammer Hall when they were attacked by a pack of vicious, organized spiders. Mazarad was knocked unconscious during the attack, and when she awoke she found herself in the chambers of the Ilharess Nylindara, the spiritual leader of the Helmogog Sworn Drow.

A zealous adherent to the teachings of Ilharess Nylindara, and a devout follower of Helmogog, Mazarad came to despise her Lolthsworn counterparts.
