The High Wilds

"I wish you best of luck, Ranger, but I don't think it will do you any good. There ain't no gods out in the Wilds, none but the forest herself. By venturing through her woods you weigh your worth before her majesty. For your sake, I hope she don't find you wanting."

The High Wilds is the name given to the massive expanse of untamed wilderness that stretches across the center of the Realm. The forest is an entire world unto itself, and remains largely unmapped. Only the most skilled outdoorsmen and naturalists dare venture into the depths of the forest, as untold dangers lurk within. Spooky.

There are no trails here, and travel through the forest is difficult. It is common for rangers and druids of all sorts to test themselves by venturing into the High Wilds. Due to the difficulty of the terrain, hunting in the High Wilds is not lucrative except perhaps for cocky trophy hunters. The few villages that are in close proximity to the Wilds only hunt the outermost reaches of the forest.
The only known people to have a permanent residence here are firbolg druid circle.
