The Martyry

The Martyry is a reclusive sect of demonhunters and priests. They specialize in cleansing areas of demonic influence, and consider themselves the first and last line of defense against incursions of the Abyss.
They are grim, humorless, and unyielding in their pursuit of demons. Collateral damage is not something that factors into their planning, and it's not uncommon for entire villages to be razed to the ground in the Martyry's search for fiends.
The headquarters of the Martyry is located on the stormy Greyhold Isle, where they share the land with the equally dour people of Greyfish.
It was revealed by Brother Callum Callus that the powerful weapons wielded by the Martyry each house the essence of a powerful Devil that imbues the item with some of their power. It is implied that these Devils are capable of escaping should their bearer not have sufficient willpower.
