The Scouring

The Gnoll Scouring, often simply called The Scouring, was a campaign embarked upon by various factions of the Realm to eliminate the Gnoll Remnant after the fall of Yeenoghu, sometime during the Fugue. Their warrens were raided and the creatures were hunted to near extinction. Though most Gnolls became simple-minded animals after the fall of their patron deity, some pockets of organized fiends remained. It is estimated that 98% of gnolls were destroyed during the Scouring.

Without the Demon Lord Yeenoghu to guide their bloodlust, the few surviving gnolls are little more than savage brigands.
