Printing Press

The invention of the printing press is a relatively recent advancement which may potentially revolutionize the way tomes and other texts are produced and shared. With a press, even just a single worker can produce hundreds of finished pages in a day's worth of effort. While this process cannot yet be used for magical scrolls and enchanting, many scholars believe such a breakthrough will become possible in a short number of years. Adoption of the press has been slow to start, as despite the advantage of being able to produce greater volumes of printings at lower cost, the purchasing cost of the press and printing materials remains too great for smaller printing operations to turn a profit.

Utility

The printing press is used for printing books, scrolls, flyers, maps, newspapers, artwork, and any ink-based paper printings.

Complexity

The printing press is a relatively simple mechanism, but requires threaded pieces which are still difficult to produce with current metalwork manufacturing processes.
