Photonamite

The advanced technological mechanisms of the Realm of Eternity are made possible by the incredibly adaptive metal known as photonamite. Photonamite mines are an important resource of the Phoenix Queen and her emplacement as monarch-protector of Castle Ridge and the whole of the Realm of Eternity.
Photonamite is a dense yet malleable metallic mineral that is easily shaped into intricate designs. The advances of anti-grav technology, pulse rifle blasters, and time dilation anchors would never be possible without the use of photonamite.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Photonamite exists in the earth as a ruddy, dark gray mineral rock. When the photonamite is refined, it gleams with an oily rainbow sheen over its shiny silver surface. Photonamite is light, but extremely durable. It is easily shaped into all manner of intricate designs, from cogs to triggers, spheres to cubes. Photonamite is nearly impossible to destroy.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Photonamite is merely a quarter the weight of steel and is far more durable. When refined Photonamite is inspected closely, a shimmering sheen of prismatic color will be noted on the surface, yet from further away refined Photonamite appears simply as shiny, silver metal.

Compounds

Photonamite is combined with other malleable materials to make all manner of weapon, armor, and technology. Photonamite is most commonly melded with steel in order to make weaponry that is light and durable. Photonamite is often melded with bronze, silver, brass, or gold in order to construct technological wonders that can be either worn as jewelry or carried as symbols of station or office.

Geology & Geography

Photonamite is most often found in the areas below Castle Ridge. These areas, to the south and the east of Castle Ridge but north of The Wall, are of the utmost importance to the defense and protection of Castle Ridge. The Phoenix Queen assigns many of her brightest scientists to the discovery of and experimentation with photonamite, and a not insignificant portion of her military assets to its protection.

Common State

Photonamite is almost exclusively found in the earth in a solid form. The Queen's scientists have been experimenting with liquefying photonamite, but there are not yet any stable, repeatable results.
