Zalaxar, God of Decay

Zalaxar represents the concept of rot and decay. As the personification of the inevitable end, Zalaxar is also seen as the God of Time. Zalaxar holds an essential part of existence: The unavoidable nothingness that brings an end to all things. Brother to Death, Zalaxar’s purpose is to balance a part of life by making its days be numbered. Nothing can live forever, and Zalaxar makes sure that is the case. Zalaxar does not carry out its duty out of malice or hatred, but a neutral understanding of what the balance of all things entails.
Followers of Zalaxar embrace the cyclical nature of life and death, viewing decay as an essential aspect of existence. They believe that all things must return to the earth eventually and find a certain peace in this understanding. His followers often tend to graveyards, burial sites, and locations of natural decay, seeing themselves as the guardians of the transition between Life and Death. Decay healing magic is an unconventional form of healing developed by his most devout followers, using controlled decay and decomposition to facilitate transformation and regeneration, embracing decay for renewed vitality.
Some followers become obsessed with the process of decay to the point where they seek out situations of death and decomposition. They may spend their time studying corpses or visiting decaying places, their fixation bordering on morbid fascination. His followers may be drawn to necromancy, using their understanding of decay to manipulate and control life forces. A common thing among them is embracing physical decay as a form of self-expression, purposefully altering their appearance to resemble decaying matter. This can include unsettling body piercings, tattoos, and adornments that mimic rot, or in more extreme cases, directly maiming their bodies and letting their wounds fester.
