Chapter 20: End of an Era

General Summary

Luanshi encountered a bridge on the way to Teichi, where his child nemeses happened to be waiting for a challenger. Yet he did not indulge their desires, leading them to change their itinerary to treasure hunting instead. Luanshi continued to Teichi, where he would find the place deserted as it should be.
With a mere Six Quick Knocks he made his way into the temple, which seemed to act as a gateway to the candles at the shrine. The candles were all marked with specific symbols which held no significance to Luanshi. It took some staring to figure out that they might represent certain Aspects of the aetherial spectrum, but their position in the diagram did not mesh with Fei Lu's findings. Having completed the diagram through trial and error, Faerus appeared to debrief Luanshi. She told Luanshi about the coming Guardian, and how it has been far too long already. She told him about the Founding, and the Error that lead to Major's Aether Deprivation.
Faerus continues to wait for her friend Lakmir to elevate a new candidate to the position of Guardian, so that they together might deal with the impending crisis, the worlds drawing ever closer to one another. Faerus mentioned that Caerean was a Particle Aetherophysicist before retiring to Minor.
Teichi was restored to how it once was, with not even a night having passed. And so the world went on, with events proceeding on their course. The General defeated at the hands of an unknown assailant sent the Office's plans on pause once again and the chaos allowed a prisoner to escape from their captivity.
