Chapter 22: Spiritual Craftsmanship
General Summary
Luanshi continued north into the Great Woods. Surrounded by giant trees and a veritable legion of other flora, he soldiered on to the nearest settlement.
He encountered the treehouses in the woods, where many artisans working with flora make their home. Woodworkers especially find no shortage of work to be done around the place, whether it's architecture, tools or simply toys for children. The possibility of upgrading his staff seemed a viable pursuit while here, granted pay in advance as he was.
The local woodworking artisan was surprised to encounter a blade crafted by the legendary Da Vihd and instead deferred Luanshi to the former flower spirit and local botanical expert. Making his way to the place that was once a shrine to the flower spirit, he would overhear an encounter between the Negotiator Shue Fen and the former Flower Spirit. Talks with the former spirits seem friendly for the time being, each of them having an interest in the 'Gate', an apparatus that was disabled by the Guardian a few centuries ago.
Luanshi arrived at the former shrine to request the Minian's services. Though a tad disappointed with the plain nature of Luanshi's request, she ended up creating a staff for him at the mere cost of 200 Wan. Pricy, but for something made by a Minian, priceless. If he wished to have it 'blessed', the Koi Spirit on an island in the Eastern Sea may prove more capable of fulfilling his exact needs.
In the end, Luanshi obtained a staff made of aether-stimulated wood and Convictium reinforcements. He learnt the name of the former flower spirit, Sheryl, as well as the former koi spirit, Jannelain.
Luanshi then set off on a carriage, to the Northern Frontier.
