Eteras Major
in EterasOrbited by two satellite planetoids and close to a myriad other astral bodies, this world features an uneven flow of aether in its atmosphere, resulting in smaller pockets of land that are actively fought over by the world’s natives.
Due to this aetheric behavior, the populace gathers densely in areas flush with aether, resulting in overcrowded cities and plentiful opportunity for those who can manipulate aether to achieve their personal agendas.
City-State Militaries
The many city-states are often founded on a nexus of aether. Fortifications are erected not only to ward against invaders, but to mark the regions where aether flows and halts. With such a coveted resource behind borders, many would try to take hold of the city-states to gain access to them. As such, there are few city-states that lack their own military force.Made up almost entirely of citizens who have rarely seen the world outside of their fortifications, the soldiers within the military must make do with what natural resources are found within range of the city.
Less fortunate city-states lack the minerals to construct adequate armaments and instead teach their soldiers to manipulate aether. A talent that often proves unhelpful when sent outside of the aether’s abundance.
To combat this flaw, tools that contain a limited amount of aether are distributed, such as potions, gemstones or runes.

The Kingdom of Eglisain
Situated in the mountain reaches to the Northwest of Parmante, the Kingdom of Eglisain is an old institution dedicated to the mastery of martial prowess amongst its royal servants. Though the citizens live in relative safety, the nation has been in constant war with various factions throughout the ages, resulting in a less than stable living situation. -
Eteras Major
Preliminary scans performed on inhabited areas of the continent simply referred to as 'The Mainland' have yielded findings contrary to initial speculations. Whilst most of the known population inhabits densely packed cities on aetheric nodes, a significant amount of others live within the aether-deprived Wilds among various smaller townships with a large range of prosperity. Additional findings confirm the presence of the wayward island containing The Vestige of Knowledge as well as the enigmatic structure known as 'The Gate'. Further research into satellite worlds is ongoing. -
Tathierre
A coastal region on a smaller island continent. Largely left alone due to the difficulty of besieging it, the city-state has been able to devote their attention and resources into the advancement of technology and aetheric research. Yet their isolationist nature makes it harder for other cultures to interact and share their findings. Scholars thus take it upon themselves to journey to the rest of the world and uncover what secrets they can. -
The Southeastern Region
Home to several city-states, the Southeastern Region borders the Eastern Ocean, the Frozen Wastes of the South and the Rocky Expanse of the North. -
Parmante
A city-state known for its wines, fruit and botanical trade. The most valuable trade commodity is Aether Root, a tree capable of generating aether even in areas deprived of it. -
Cortaire
Once a bustling trade hub for city-states around the world to visit, Cortaire's population spiked suddenly as refugees and immigrants ventured into the city after troubles emerged in the world. Unable to scale up infrastructure quick enough, Cortaire suffered from too many mouths to feed, resulting in the collapse of the government and the subsequent takeover by its military. Cortaire now seeks to expand as a means to survive, delving into the aether-starved Wilds that surround their borders. -
