With her deities' help Ethel became a knowledgeable wizard and astronomer. Ethel would end up making a good living for herself and be able to take care of her brother easily. She would be so proud of her, she said. Eventually she would even get married. Her knowledge of the stars would eventually bring her into conflict with astronomers who did not like the idea of the stars being mere balls of fire; these groups grew increasingly powerful and increasingly dangerous.
