Adventurer Guildmaster

Adventurer Guildmasters, while very similar to the Guildmasters of merchants and craftsmen, have additional duties and requirements. While it is hard for one government to enforce these requirements due to the inter-Realm nature of most Adventurers' Guilds, it is well-known that they will keep each other in check.

Requirements & Qualifications

Individual Guilds have their own requirements and qualifications, but they all have the same core.   To be considered for the position, candidates have to be either a Founding member of the Guild or have been a member for 5 years as well as the equivalent of over 25 years of age. Candidates must be nominated by either the previous Guildmaster or Senior Guild Members and not by self-nomination in order to ensure due process. While it isn't a requirement, it is also encouraged that candidates have been a Party Leader for at least 3 years and are familiar with the command structure and paperwork of the Guild.

Appointment

Once all candidates have been nominated, it is put up to a vote by the Guild Members. Some Guilds will have the vote open to the whole Guild, but most will limit it to Senior Guild Members and Party Leaders. However, it is encouraged for Party Leaders to speak to their Party members to see if there are concerns about candidates that need to be brought to their attention. Depending on how severe the issue is, candidates can be disqualified and even removed from the Guild.   Once a successor is decided on, there will be a minimum six month transitional period ,with larger Guilds taking as long as a full year, during which the successor is taught about all the duties and responsibilities of their new position. The end of the transition is marked by a celebration of some kind by the Guild, which can range in publicity from open to the public to limited to close friends. The previous Guildmaster is encouraged to continue to be available for the new Guildmaster for the next six to eighteen months to give advice on any unexpected issues.   The new Guildmaster creates their own Guildmaster Sigil as a personal mark for documents and history-keeping.

Duties & Responsibilities

Adventurer Guildmasters are responsible for coordinating with other Guilds, approving missions and inducting new members. Guildmasters of larger Guilds are also responsible for assigning Grandmasters and tend to outsource some of their responsibilities to them.
