Sanguine Sunrise #31: Blood in the Water

General Summary

Luthrin leads his assault on the High Archon. The Archon retaliates by cutting into his enemies and creating devastating spells that drop Gratorr to the ground. He then goes into his fountain and raises water around him while runes in the floor change.
Eventually, they manage to harm the Archon as he is in his water covering, and the runes on the floor turn red. Luthrin fires an eldritch blast at the rune, and a scream resounds throughout the room. The group realizes that the Archon is profusely bleeding and has aged since last seen and they begin focusing on this pattern.
Eventually, the Archon faces off against Luthrin, clashing against him, Greatsword against Greatsword, and Luthrin cuts deeply into the Archon. As he does, the Archon turns into a bloody form and rushes for the fountain again, but he is taken down before reforming.
Then, as he laid outside the fountain, an old man dying, he told them to go to Phandalin and find his friend there. They must follow the light to reforge the bond. And then, he dies, dropping all of his magical items.
The group then loots the room of all its supplies and begin to plan how to move on. They then notice that a silver portal was raised above them. After spending 10 minutes looking into the items found in this room, the portal began to sputter, as if going out. Everyone managed to find their way to the portal despite it being raised above them, but Gratorr failed in doing so.
Gratorr then wondered out of the throneroom and met a strange woman. She and her companion took Gratorr along with his friend's corpse back to the material plane in an old farmhouse that was familiar to Luthrin, but it was not familiar to him. Then, he said goodnight to Jin and went to sleep.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party return to the Debaucherous' palace and leave as soon as possible. They all then go to the inn to wait for Gratorr to show up with them, and they go to sleep, and Luthrin attunes to Sanguine. In doing so, he begins to question the need for doing what the High Archon said when he literally held insane beliefs and practices.
In the morning, he literally takes damage from holding the blade and rids himself of it. The rest of the group head down stairs and everyone begins talking.
In the mean time, Gratorr reenters the city with Jin's body with many antics to go along with it. Once he enters, he finds Oghmar and seeks reconciliation to ressurect Jin.
Ramori then, goes to see Blackstaff and talk about performing some enchantments. Blackstaff talks about aiding in some creations, but the task is heavy for him. However, he can still perform it if Ramori was to find out who the Broker was and where he or she is.
The others all meet at the inn and Gratorr gathers diamonds for the ressurection while Kurt and Luthrin buy Kurt the jade armor at Steam and Steal. Then, they all go to the temple of Oghma and sign Oghmar's contract of not messing with minds.
Then, they watch as the ritual takes place. When the gateway to the afterlife is opened, Kurt asks Jin to return. Gratorr tries to remind him of their past revelry, but he feels that it does not work quite as he liked. Finally, Luthrin threatens Jin's afterlife. Thus, as the gateway began to close, Jin returned to life.
Jin immediately thrashed against them and transformed into his fish form. Kurt held him down and they discussed things with him. Eventually, he spoke of an island where survivors and others washed up and he stayed along with a child. Ramori returns and describes what he might be. Finally, he claims the child is named Nix and they are all looking for them. Then, after asking to let him go, the others distrust him, and he lashes out, resulting in them pouring acid down his mouth and killing him again.
Now, Sanguine Sunrise has left there. They plan to stay in the city for a few days before pursuing on of their goals. However, darkness comes for them, and it is unknown what that could mean.
