Imperial Legions

In the middle of the Fourth Age the first Imperial Legion was created out a specially chosen Militant Union squads from across the Imperium. It was a newly created faction allowing for a further trained Imperial army specializing in Imperial conquest and defense against dangerous entities and forces, while allowing the Militant Unions to continue on as peacekeeping and protection purposes. The First Imperial Legion was led by Empress Patricias Averant, a famous and renown general that rose to prominence after the collapse of the Caelum lineage Emperors, who was elected Emperor in 455 4A. She would lead them in several major pushes into surround planar realms and begun the charge in massive Imperial spread. Within a decade, five further Imperial Legions would be founded to continue the Imperial spread.   The Imperial legions continue to this day as powerful Imperial troops and many militant Emperors have risen from their ranks. As of the current Imperial age the Legions number twenty seven Imperial Legions. There was a total of Thirty legions throughout history, but three have been lost and stricken from the rolls. The Fifth and Seventh were lost due to the complete destruction of the Legion during destructive attacks during the later Fourth Age. The Fifteenth Legion was lost in the Astral Wave Events of 1111 5A as they were near the epicenter and was lost in the following destruction.   The Imperial Legions were a successful idea and a powerful new pillar that the Imperial rose with. It is through their prowess that the prosperity and spread of the Imperium has been as successful as it has been. They have led the Imperial charge for millenia and may they continue to serve the Imperium for many more.
