Harrowfeld

Harrowfeld is a strange settlement, located many miles from the nearest other point of civilization, and several miles from anywhere that most would consider habitable. Harrowfeld is situation deep into the Northlands, on the very edge of reality itself. Little of interest is in the area, and there isn't much alive up there to hunt or grow either.   This makes most, at least most that even known the settlement exists in the first place, rather uncertain as to how they get by, or even survive at all up in the wastelands. The people of Harrowfeld have a few secrets that allow them to survive. One of these is a small selection of crops that can grow with almost no sun, which they cultivate inside careful fertilized soil bed within the city itself. Animals as well as raised inside specially designed areas of the city rather than ranched outside of it, as they wouldn't be able to survive in the Northlands around it.   the folks in Harrowfeld are considered rather strange indeed for bothering to fight the land around them, and reason, just to live miles away from society, but the people who call it home would hardly ever consider leaving. While few know why the city was ever built there in the first place, the people of the town have been living there for generations now.   The rare rumor tells of another secret the people of Harrowfeld may have that could answer all of these questions. It has been said, in rare and ancient texts and the most obscure of bardic tales, that there is one small area hidden somewhere in the Northlands that isn't barren and empty at all, but rather the completely opposite. The rumor holds that some kind of paradise is hidden on the very edge of the world itself, and that the people of Harrowfeld may very well know exactly where it is. Whether htere is any truth at all to this rumor, none outside the city know.
