Shattered Script

A secret written script used by the hidden members of the Shattered Veil to communicate with other members. It consists of strange patterns that are difficult for the untrained eye to distinguish from one another, many of which could also be mistaken for random scratches by observers that don't know exactly what to look for.   It's a simplified language, designed to convey ideas and messages without needing enough characters to look like a written sentence. The letters themselves have multiple forms, sometimes overlapping depending on the letters around them and the word or message being conveyed. It is a rather complicated script to learn and memorize, but the members of the Shattered Veil are dedicated to understanding and memorizing hidden secrets, so their strange script reflects their skillset.   As a group so secretive that individual members often don't even know where other members are located, the script serves as a way for them to leave messages where other members can find them if they happen to be around. One of the more common uses of the script is to find and meet up with other members when they desire to trade information that can't be so easily shared with the simple messages the script is designed to communicate.     A modified version of the script, one with several more distinct characters, is used sometimes in the writings of the Shattered Veil as well. This version of the script is harder to disguise as simple scratches of nondescript markings, but it still serves the purpose of being a script only their own members know. This version has several of its own slight modifications and modes, with enough complexities that even other members sometimes need cyphers to understand each others' writings. These cyphers are often related to the writer's Veiled Name, something which isn't marked on their documents at all, making them easier to decipher for other members, and no one else.
