Book of the Voiceless

Books are the ideas of others who wish to say what they want even after they are long gone. While they do not speak and remain silent, it only takes someone to open the cover to let these ideas spread. - Breya Obern, liberarian

Symbol of Freedom

Written by the author Lazarus Palmero, the book was created as a philosophical piece to challenge authority and how governments should be run to help their people and not control them. Later on the book has been represented as a symbol of defiance against the corrupt and tyrannical rule. It has inspired many people to come together and join forces to try to bring change to their home for the better. This book had inspired creation of many groups to stand up and be heard, such as the Veritas and the Voiceless to no longer ignore the problems that affect their lives. To stand up to those who would blind them and beat them to submission while they ruin the lives of others for their own personal gain.

Hidden in Plain Sight

The words are all that matter to a book so does it mean it has to have the same cover? Not when it comes to this book as it is illegal to have in your possession . So having a different cover on it and placed together with other books can go a long way from being caught with and ending up in a prison cell. Making the books come in different colors and materials to ensure no one can find it easily. The only way to identify the book properly is to find an x that is somewhere on it which is hidden in invisible ink. Titles will also vary as it needs to be either unnoticeable or boring to anyone who looks at it, like a cookbook or study on fungus. The original cover of the book is often very rare to find and some can be centuries old if Lazarus' name is on it.

Significance

A nation does not exist because of its leaders, it is the people who live within it that continue to make it possible. - Excerpt from the Book of the Voiceless

The book is often considered nothing more than an influence of rebellion and uprising by those in power and has been declared banned or illegal in many places. If any of these books are founded they are often destroyed on sight to stop any more potential threats from popping up. Anyone caught with this book is often arrested and in some cases executed for sedition.

Spreading the Message

No one knows how many books there are out in the world, some say that there are only a few hundred and some believe that there are thousands of them hidden away being read by their owners. Though some of them have been destroyed by authorities, many more are still being made by a select few that are called Pressmen that risk their lives to ensure that the truth is never lost. Each one of them can make dozens of books in secret and distribute them to those they trust so that the word many spread to those willing to listen.
