Dark magic is a power that no one should have because of its sinister nature to cause suffering all around them. Many who use it often only seek power for themselves at the expense of others. Even the slightest sign of someone using any form of it will usually result in imprisonment or instant execution to avoid any future danger that may come with them. It even breaks the common principles of magic in regards to it serving others and only being used to bring betterment to all. There have been so many large and small incidents when dark magic has only brought destruction wherever it goes. It only takes and takes and never gives back; it will never get good to others. It is a curse on magic for it even to exist, as its essence has even been stained by its mere presence of it. They are leaving scars that will never heal from places that experienced them firsthand and the untold masses who perished at its hand when they were finally met with it.

One tends to wonder why something so twisted ever came into the world, such as this form of magic; well, it was not natural. Unlike most other magics that naturally came into the world, dark magic originated from many places, either created by mortals who corrupted magic or otherworldly beings wishing to gain power in the mortal realm through servants and leading to specific individuals both being born with magic and without it to be granted dark power. Making the only form of magic that can be learned through studying the dark arts. It is impossible to be born with this type of magic unless it is under exceptional circumstances. If it were, it could lead to more chaotic events once these children's magic manifested and the consequences that would come with them. All in all, anyone who has ever been tempted by the power that comes with this will often crave more of it and give up everything they hold dear to maintain or gain more of it. This magic will only remove anything good in a person and replace it with whatever corrupted ideas may come with it.

Whatever power may be given to those who use it, the results will often lead to their doom. While its power might be tempting, it is only a tool to lead others astray so that they can become tools to otherworldly forces. Even when given the power, it often leads to an insatiable desire to crave more. While many of these individuals have been known to band together to achieve their goals for power, they usually destroy one another to ensure they do not share it. In their minds, sharing power breeds rivalry and weakness, as no one holds too much power. This has been the case for many as they cannot stop their mad ventures to see the masses bend to their will, only to find themselves broken and defeated when their plans lie in ruin.

Dark magic, like all other magics, follows its laws; their laws, of course, often affect their users more than traditional magics. It is from the use of this magic that one thing is made clear: its users are slaves to it. Often, at the cost of their bodies and lives, the wielders of these magics will be unable to stop using them once they take hold as they will grab hold of them and never let go. Leading to their enviable destruction once it is finally reached, but there are ways to halt this process, often at the cost of their very being. This can range from dooming themselves with internal torment after death to being altered into something else that is beyond that of a mortal being. It only exists to destroy all who use it in their never-ending pursuit to triumph overall in their search for endless power.

Types of Magic

Blood Magic : A magic that is powered by the blood of all living things. Magic such as this can strengthen a user and those around them. Any form of blood can power the magic as long as there is enough. Even the blood of the one casting it can be used to power it at the cost of their own body.
Shadow Magic: The power to control the shadow to subvert the light that creates it. It is an art of silence and deception to gain the upper hand on unsuspecting foes. But the magic itself has a far more robust connection to the darkness it controls, often leading to its users succumbing to it and turning them into creatures of darkness themselves.
Necromancy: The dead should never be brought back to life as their time is over. However, this magic can be changed as it grants the power of death to the deceased. However, whatever existed in life no longer exists after death, as their bodies are no more than empty shells. All of which are at the command of the one who resurrected them to obey their every wish. To those who use this magic, they believe they can conquer death itself and gain immortality.
Death Magic: An art created to kill all living things. The magic is often made to make those inflicted on it suffer and know pain. It can kill instantly or slowly, but the result is always the same. Death comes in many different forms, making it often unpredictable to those who face it. But it is frequently easy to find as those who use it have the stench of death that surrounds them wherever they go. However, the magic itself is lethal to its users as it is death and will slowly kill them as they drain away.
Hellion Magic: A magic that is powered by Demons. This magic can only be acquired by dealing with demons and binding them to the one who makes the contract. However, this great power can be given to those who form pacts with the damned and wreak havoc on all who cross them. But when the time comes for the deal to come to an end, it will often be at the price of their soul.
