Forlorn's Hope

Forlorn's Hope is the name given to the proxy war being fought for the small state of Forlorn Republic. Both Bartosh Compendium and George Main are attempting to bring the republic under their wing and secure an extension of jump 1 trading routes. Edgeworlds are trying to maintain the status quo and protect their trade route with both entities and ended up being caught in the middle and appearing to back the Forlorn Republic.
In particular, the worlds X5903 and Endlin are under siege.
Both Bartosh Compendium and Edgeworlds are using this small scale war to showcase military and technological advances without blatantly engaging each other in war. Although Endlin and X5903 are shown as being members of their respective states, in truth military engagements are occurring regularly as a spillover from the fighting that's been tearing apart the Torn system for decades.
Neither side wants to directly engage, but they continue to attempt to bring the Forlorn Republic into their sphere of influence to gain the prized Forsyth system with it's Class A startport and large population.
Officially Bartosh Compendium and Edgeworlds have only declared war upon the Forlorn Republic under pretenses that have been long forgotten in the decades since the fighting started.
