the fire salamander

the fire salamander is a dwarven rank and title that was found after the the battle of Allom. it was first bequeathed to Raltor because he had a fire salamander that helped in the battle and they wanted to reward him. the responsibilities of some one who has the rank of fire salamander is to protect a sword this sword was one that was made by the strongest dwarves out of a mysterious material that shines brightly besides the great dark material it was made from and gives the bearer incredible strength. later the sword was given a name because it was originally called the dwarven blade of the split blades it is now called the Night Sky because of its dark material and the bright light like the stars. to get this title is a great honor. the next bearer of the title is chosen by the current bearer of the title and they then must go through a trial. the trial is different for each person the current bearer makes it up and it commonly has three different challenges one of strength one of smarts and one of spirit. if they pass the trials then they then go through a ceremony at the building of the fire salamander at Allom. the responsibilities of this title are to protect the Night Sky and give it to the next person who needs to wield the Right Sky. this title is really only known by dwarves other wise people really just think there talking about the animal. If the bearer of the title without the title dies they then choose someone to complete whatever the last trial was and then the king will give the blade to the next fire salamander. Originally before the title was created the sword was just sitting in the royal treasury and watched by the captain of the royal guard.
