Perfect pitch is a quality that appears in birds as well as humans. However, it is considerably rare, appearing in approximately one in one thousand birds (compared to approximately one in ten thousand humans). Perfect pitch, being so rare, is also important in the bird world. The reason why all birds strongly revere and almost deify birds with perfect pitch is hotly debated, although most agree that it was an indicator of fitness in the birds.
