This is the time when we can't take anymore.
This is the time when we open up the door.
Now is the time for a new solution.
Now is the time for a revolution.
Attributed to Nicholas Bramwer, Peasant Commander
One man, wrongly convicted, sailing to his death on a desolate, wintry island. One woman, sitting in the office of an illegal newspaper, about to publish her first issue of The Voice of Mitrand, about to advocate for reform. One king, atop his throne, drinking and partying with his court at the cost of the people. One peasant, his town ruined by taxes, preparing a revolt. One elder, forever battling corruption in the upper echelons of government. One child, apprenticing as a secretary to the elder.
The crossbow whizzes. The printing press rolls. The wineglass clinks. The church bells ring.
We follow these six figures through fortune and hardship, through power and weakness, through life until death. We follow them through the fall of the Kingdom of Mitrand until the founding of the Republic. We watch them find themselves, and change: for the better or the worse. We witness the clash of empires.
