Jahnael

The first and largest city in the Kingdom of Corym, and in all of Krez'Mika, Jahnael is around 370 miles wide. Homing thousands of people, the city is always bustling and there's always something going on.

Demographics

Being in Corym, the majority of its residents are elves in the high or middle classes, though some elves are slaves or lower class. The rest are either humans or half elves, who are almost always slaves in the Kingdom.

Government

The government is run by the Regal Union; 3 of the wealthiest families of Corym, Meliamne, Tahromifeth, and Salingaerith, are the heads of the Kingdom and divide up the land between them (depending on who has the most money) and those that live on the lands pay taxes to their respective owners. That with the most wealth has the most land, power, and influence, which is currently Gannmil Tahromifeth, who owns Janhael.

Defences

Bearing large walls all round, spotted with towers for watch, the cities 2300 or so guards have an eye on every angle. The wall only has 2 entries; the main gate at the south east, and the secret exit, that only the Union knows about.

Industry & Trade

The trade central of the Kingdom, the market of Janhael has everything you could think of, from exotic foods and trinkets to the hardiest of armours and weapons. Their largest export is their metal, which they mine from the mountains to the north west, as well as the gems they find from doing so.

Assets

Stretching throughout the city are canals that bring the water from __ lake and its connecting rivers inside the walls. Jahnael also has many different shops, stands, taverns and libraries; there's almost anything you could imagine, the most famous being the Mystic Library of Daegwyn, though it's kept locked away by the Regal Union.

History

When the elves first settled on Krez'Mika thousands of years ago, Jahnael was where they started building their first settlement, and those original structures still stand, dotted all over the city, despite everything. The Terrible War brought fighting to it's doorstep when the southerners tried to fight back. But the elves won the fight, overpowering their attackers with the strongest magic seen in these lands. But, in spite of their efforts, the elves still lost the war, and got pushed back into where Corym sits now, keeping its first city as it's capital as a show of determination.

Architecture

The wall surrounding the city is a stark white and makes the city itself look like a castle, but once you go through the main gate you're greeted with the simplicity of stone buildings; miles away and above the simple little buildings you can see large, white houses built with spiraling columns and topped with dark blue roofs. And just beyond those, rising high above everything around, you see the tall, sleek towers of the Elluin Palace, the white of its walls almost too bright too look at.

Geography

Jahnael is relatively flat, though sloping down slightly from the north, and is only spotted with the pines that are native to the land. Right outside the city gate is __ lake, which flows into the city using the man-made canals that span throughout bringing fresh water all around.

Natural Resources

The Northern Mountains hold many ores, mostly iron, and the lands outside the city wall are farmed for food and animals, though mostly the latter. Many fish can be found in the north sea, in addition to those in __ lake.
