Entry 02 : Stranded At Sea
Close your eyes. Focus on the sound of the waves hitting the escape boat you are on. Imagine your body rocking along with it. You feel the jagged texture of the wooden planks on your back. You feel your skin shaping itself along with the creases of the boards, the much softer texture of your bags on which your head rests and the blanketing layers of seawater splashing on you. You are at rest.
*Pause*
[Anxiety Roll <= 0] Hang on, you're at rest... Why are you at rest? You shouldn't be resting. You're at sea. Stranded at sea. You should be alert. You need to focus.
[Fear Roll <= 0] What you saw two weeks ago... it was so illogical... you can't wrap your head around it... why? why did it happen?
Your thoughts come back to where they wandered off from. You realise that all along a faint droning sound has been getting louder and louder. It sounds not unlike a song, but this isn't a voice. It feels more natural... like the sound made by a wine glass when caressing the edges with a wet finger. A loud thunder knocks you out of it. You open your eyes and see the sea, the clouds and the mist are bloodshot red. The waves become more and more aggressive. You smell blood. Human blood.
*Sound gets louder and tone changes dramatically*
The droning sound gets louder and louder, coming closer and closer to imitating a human voice, and yet lacking familiarity. It's loud... cosmic even. Some distance away from you a strange crystal formation emerges the sea. It looks like a machine, but it doesn't quite look man-made. The formation starts violently glowing turquoise and accelerating towards you. It moves faster, and faster and faster. You anticipate it striking the boat, and when it does you feel yourself wake up. The ship just bumped into the island.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS
*Deepwater seems very desolate at first. It's sparsely populated, the people seem to hate the players, and most of it lies in ruin.*
*Fitzgerald Fury leads the party to the Blue Water Inn, where they meet various characters*
*The party is given free rein to explore the regions surrounding Deepwater Bay. Everything else seems geographically cut off. Each area has a plot hook.*
*The Northern Docks is the last known place of Roy Wilder, the man who wrote the message in a bottle*
*The Southern Docks is where the shipyard is located, where Fitzgerald Fury is trying to set up a way to escape*
*Central Deepwater is where a man in the inn (Gilbert Johnson) recommends they look for a place to sleep*
*After a certain period of time elapses, the sun starts being eclipsed by a large celestial body. This celestial body later crashes into the planet and everyone dies. The party sees the crystal machine from the start again, and they reawaken in the boat.*
