The Wayfinder

Introduction

"The Wayfinder," also known as "Sūtu dūnu" in ancient Babylonia translations, is a legendary and enigmatic vehicle steeped in mystical tales and historical references. This extraordinary transport has been associated with numerous legendary figures and famous events throughout history, making it more than just a mere means of transportation. As the stories suggest, it is believed to be an ancient entity from beyond the stars, its power harnessed by early human magic users. With its ability to traverse space and time, The Wayfinder is said to guide its passengers not necessarily to their desired destinations but to where they truly need to be.

Origins and Legendary Association

The origins of The Wayfinder can be traced back to ancient Babylonia, as indicated by the name "Sūtu dūnu" derived from the historical translations. However, its true nature remains shrouded in mystery, as it transcends human understanding and morality. Legends and myths have connected this extraordinary vehicle with numerous renowned figures and historical moments, such as Apollo's Chariot, Aladdin's magic carpet, Alexander the Great's Saddle, Ra's Chariot, The Mayflower, Lewis & Clark's Canoe, and even the infamous HMS Bounty.

Beyond a Mere Vehicle

The Wayfinder is far more than just a mode of transportation; it is regarded as a cosmic entity with abilities beyond human comprehension. While it does not align with concepts of good or evil, it assumes various forms throughout the ages, reflecting its adaptability and enigmatic nature. As the stories go, those who wield The Wayfinder gain access to its power, and it carries them not to their chosen destination but to the place they need to be, often guided by an unknown force.

The Rediscovery

Thought to have been lost to the annals of time, The Wayfinder resurfaced through the efforts of Casey Cameron. Discovering the legendary vehicle in its current form as a 1976 Gran Torino station wagon, Casey became intrigued by the tales of the Sūtu dūnu. His initial plan was to embark on an educational supernatural road trip with his two children, Jacob Cameron and Michaela Cameron. However, circumstances forced Casey to send his children away for their safety, leaving the Wayfinder behind.

Legacy

After the fall of the organization known as the "Benfactors," Casey Cameron went into hiding, leaving The Wayfinder dormant and unused. It wasn't until a fateful encounter with Irene D'Anvers that The Wayfinder regained activity. Irene, aware of The Wayfinder's ability to guide its drivers where they need to be, believed it could aid in locating Casey and keep the siblings, Jacob and Michaela, one step ahead of the relentless Angel Azrael who pursued them. United by a common goal, the trio embarked on their journey, hoping that The Wayfinder's cosmic abilities would aid them in formulating a plan to protect themselves and find their father Casey.
