Al Baishia

In Al Baishia there is a council of about 30 elders from across the country for the government. The majority of Al Baishia belong to the Eurabic culture.

Government

Al Baishia is a gerontocracy, drawing its governing rulers from the oldest and wisest citizens. Due to the nature of this type of government, measures are put in place to extend the natural lives of the elders so that they not die of old age while on the council. The country itself requires little intervening from the elders, but goes to them it times of great need. The elders are specifically chosen for their wisdom from adventures and experiences in youth.

History

Al Baishia was officially recognized as a country in 624, founded through an alliance of the humanoid settlers and the tritons of Everblue Bay. In 1489, Kabad declared war on Al Baishia in an effort to eliminate slavery across the continent. At the time, Al Baishia was the only country where generational slavery was legal. Over the 10 year war, Tesania and Ghomaha joined in the battle against Al Baishia. In 1499, Al Baishia surrendered and slavery was made illegal. It is important to note, however, that not all of the slave owners obeyed this law and many found loop holes.
