Nigashi

Nigashi takes up the majority of northwest of the Shallow Expanse. The official culture recognized in Nigashi is Yamoto.

Government

Nigashi was organized by a very powerful elven woman and her bloodline has been royalty there ever since. This royal bloodline is different than some of the other monarchies across the world as daughters are chosen as heirs before sons. It is also by tradition that the heir cannot take the throne unless they hold the blessing of Phodos. Reigns are also typically limited to 300 years to prevent stagnation.

History

Nigashi was officially recognized as a country in 435, the oldest of the standing countries. As a primarily elven country, many of its citizens are deeply involved in the history of the country. It is also important to note, there have only been 4 ruling queens in Nigashi's history. In 1495, Aberia declared war on Nigashi in hopes of using their neighboring wars as a distraction for expansion. Eisenheim joined in on this conflict in hopes of studying the giant tribes that reside in Aberia to gain an advantage in their own conflict against Fjevia. The conflict dragged on for six years with little substantial gain due to the actions of Nigashi's Ten Warrior Maidens, so an agreement of neutrality was made. Even with this treaty signed, Eisenheim would remain at war with Fjevia until 1508.
