Advocate
Advocates are the lawyers of Doskvol. You may think the vampires would be the bloodsuckers of The Shattered Isles. You would be wrong. Vampires also hate advocates.
Prestige: Advocates are an almost universally reviled profession. Magistrates hate them for their disrespect for the law and their offices via bribing and finding legal loopholes for their clients. Criminals hate them for their tendancy to throw cases for the right price. It is not uncommon for a Dusker's innocence to be determined through a bidding war. If you’re captured by the Bluecoats or brought before a magistrate, it’s the depth of your pockets and the breadth of your political connections that will almost always decide the case, not the application of jurisprudence. Accoutrement: Advocates carry case files and forms. They have access to law libraries, and usually know the ins and outs and who's who of the legal system in The Dusk.
Training: While technically, anyone can advocate for anyone else, classes in Imperial law are required to be a professional advocate. One might think that an encyclopedic knowledge of law is required, but what is more useful is knowing which officials to bribe and how much.
