Explorers reach out into the wild untamed parts of the world in search of secrets and treasures. Most don't live long enough to find them.
Prestige: Why anyone would choose to travel beyond the lightning barriers is simply unfathomable. Explorers are generally regarded as unhinged and dangerous people.
Accoutrement: Explorers are typically well armed, have some kind of map or guide, and a steed to carry them into the deathlands
Training: Explorers are usually trained in previous excursions under other more experienced explorers. There is no real preparation for this, and the reasons for going beyond the barriers vary.
