The Nocturnal Abyss

The Nocturnal Abyss is also known coloquially as the hell plane, hellscape, or simply "the hells". It is the home plane of demons and devils, and the ancestral home of the tiefling race.
The Abyss is split into an ever-changing number of territories with the arch-demons and arch-devils continually carving out their own regions while enveloping each other's.
The landscape of the Nocturnal Abyss is a shifting dark void, although this recedes within the populated areas, to a copper-hued rocky plain. The sky above is a deep crimson, absent of the Iridescence from the material plane. There is no sun in the sky, but the heat is ever present, and in an inversion of The Shattered Realms, night never falls.
