Teruchim
Teruchim is Shindus' only major port and is the third largest city in the nation. It is in the southern region of Shindus and sits on the mouth of the Balem River where it lets out into Teru Bay, a small enclosed body of water that connects to the Southern Sea through a single outlet. It is a crucial city for trade and defense, in part because of its status as the nation's only major port, but also because it blocks entry to the Balem, which connects directly to Lake Lekrang and Lekrar, the nation's capital, which sits on its shore. It has long been understood that if Teruchim fell, the entire nation would likely soon collapse, which is why Pitelion's Army has always treated it as a base of operations, particularly after the Fall from Grace.
Teruchim was founded nearly a century after Lukrar, when the 3rd representative of Pitelion led a military campaign against the people that had previously inhabited the region. The fight is famous, because it was actually the closest that Shindus had ever come to falling prior to the Fall from Grace. The people living in the region were united by a singular matriarch, the Witch of Zhigitem, a powerful witch that rivaled the strength of the representatives. She lived peacefully in a small lagoon just outside of Teru Bay, but when the people of the region heard of the approaching army, they went to her for help. She taught them how to cast simple magics that would enchant their ships, so they were able to force the Shindusian troops that were ailing down the Balem onto land, where they continued to harass them for the rest of the march southward. They even managed to pass them entirely and landed an assault on Lukrar, although it was fended off. Eventually, it culminated in a final battle between the representative of Pitelion and the Witch, where the Witch fell, just barely short of bringing the representative with her. She did however buy time for the local peoples to escape by ship, although it is unknown where they ended up.
Although Teruchim is a major trade city that sees all sorts of goods pass through its waters, it is most famous for the speckled pearls that come from the Witch's Bay, the lagoon where the Witch of Zhigitem once lived. The pearls are beautiful on their own right, but can also be used to facilitate powerful clairvoyant magics. They are rare and difficult to harvest, as the Witch's Bay is still filled with the magical defenses the Witch laid there nearly a thousand years ago. Only small numbers of highly trained divers and sailors even attempt to collect them, but they are well compensated for their efforts.
