The King of Creation

The King of Creation, often referred to simply as the King, was the second of two primordial gods that created the Silverlands itself.   The first primordial god, Syris, was formed inside the chaotic energy of a star. They were quiet and reserved, content with sitting back and watching the universe turn. For years they simply meditated on the nature of themselves and the universe, until they reached true omniscience - understanding and knowledge of existence. After many years of this, Syris grew lonely. They decided to create themselves a companion and took half of their full power and create the second primordial god, Aerel. Wanting Aerel to be their own being, Syris did nothing to influence Aerel's personality or preferences.   They were happy for a long time, but Aerel was unsatisfied with simply observing the universe with Syris. Aerel decided he would like to participate and create something of his own. Syris was difficult to convince, but eventually gave in to the wishes of their beloved. Under Syris' guidance but without their direct involvement, Aerel created the planet of the Silverlands and handcrafted every mountain, island, cave and river. He named the planet Syrisral, which means "Land of Silver" in Celestial. With some matter left, Aerel created a moon to go along with his planet.   Aerel decided that he would like to create life to live on his planet, starting small with single-celled organisms at first. He observed how they live and multiply, learning how life functions and what it requires to survive. As he built his confidence and experience he too slowly grew the size and complexity of his life from bacteria to plants and animals. Eventually he created the first sentient race and names them the Prorenae. Dubbing himself the King of Creation, he assumed what he believed to be his rightful place as their god and rules. He involved himself in all their lives, preventing harm or unhappiness from befalling them. He did not actively encroach upon his children's free will, but simply changed the environment and circumstances to remove any chances of danger from their lives. This time was pleasant but uneventful, with most of the Prorenae simply floating along life, neither experiencing hardship or accomplishing anything extraordinary.   After some time, a group of Prorenae got together and petitioned the King to grant them part of his power so that they might go out into the world and achieve greatness. He liked the idea and accepted, turning them into demigods called Creators. These Creators would eventually turn on him, deciding that life under his oversight was an unfulfilling one and wanting to free their entire race from him. He was upset by this and resisted their wishes, with everything coming to a head when he killed and mutilates one of the Creators, a warrior named Tiamat.   Seeing this, Syris decided to put a stop to it themselves. They confront the King and engage in a drawn out battle in which the King prevailed and killed Syris, but was greatly weakened himself. A group of Prorenae take this opportunity to cast a strong spell, opening up a tear in time space itself and casting the King through it, banishing from reality. The King was trapped in this gaol for millennia until a wizard named Hedda pieced together a previously thought impossible branch of magic: chronurgy. She performed a ritual that was unsuccessful but created a small crack in the king's prison that was just enough to stir him ever so little. Some years later Hedda's son, another wizard named Trechtus, would perform the same experiment and widen that small crack into a full rift, waking the King fully and allowing him to exert some amount of influence from within his prison.   Trechtus was forced to join with some other adventurers to deal with this threat that he had accidentally caused and the party traveled to the Estrian Archipelago to defeat the foundation that the King had set up. Once he was as weak as they could get him, the party confronted the King and defeated him, sealing him away in his prison and stealing nearly all of his power, ensuring that he would have no chance of escape again.   All but those who were alive during his reign have forgotten about the King, but the consequences of his actions are still far and wide, with it unlikely that the Silverlands will ever truly move beyond the god that created it.
