03-04 - Death of the First Party
General Summary
14th of June, 3598 AA
The party heads out the next day and go up the river to find a pretty cove, and in the water they find some fish people called Sahuagin who say they will take them across the channel in exchange for a story.
The party does very badly at this bit so the fish people ask for actual monetary payment in the form of gemstones instead. The party lack this so have to settle on a story anyway. But only two party members appear to make it across, the other three just all disappear with no bodies found but no sign of them. However they do find a very soggy rucksack and inside is a stuffed toy bat, a stone with a spiral carved into it and a few other things.
The gate to the island is unlocked but only because it looks like it's been forced off its hinges. We find a dead body but can't see his head or feet. Horses are alive and tied up. Dead dog missing head and feet too.
The party makes their way eventually into Crowscar Tower where there are lots of dead animals. They find an alive tiefling hiding behind the crates in one of the rooms who has also come in search of the merchant's daughter having seen the same job.
One party member, Snorri, goes into the library and recognises the books are written in an ancient language but nothing else, as he cannot read. However he does start screaming and hides under the table. The rest of the party eventually coax him out of the library and they head upstairs. In the bedroom they move a rug and discover a badly drawn pentagram underneath. They choose to keep going up to the top floor.
