Gelid

Gelid boasts impressive defenses, with a strong navy and coastal fortifications protecting the city from any potential threats. The city's architecture is a blend of styles from across the Six Realms, with a mix of traditional and modern influences. Overall, Gelid is a vibrant and dynamic city, filled with opportunities for adventure, commerce, and cultural exchange.

Demographics

Gelid is a diverse city, with a population of approximately 25,000 inhabitants. The majority of the population is made up of humans, but there are also sizable communities of elves, dwarves, and halflings. Gelid is known for its acceptance of people from all walks of life, and many immigrants from other parts of the six realms have made their home in the city. Government

The government of Gelid is a monarchy, ruled by the king or queen of Anbria who holds absolute power over the city. The monarch is responsible for maintaining law and order, defending the city from external threats, and overseeing the administration of justice. The government also employs a variety of bureaucrats, tax collectors, and other officials to help manage the affairs of the city and ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Defences

Gelid's defenses consist of a city wall made of stone and reinforced with iron, as well as a well-trained city guard. The wall is about 20 feet high and encircles the entire city, with watchtowers at regular intervals. The city guard consists of a mix of full-time soldiers and part-time militia members, all of whom are trained in archery, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat. The guard is also equipped with a number of siege weapons, including trebuchets and ballistae, which are stored in armories around the city. Additionally, Gelid maintains a small navy to defend against sea-borne threats, with a number of ships docked at the city's port. Overall, Gelid's defenses are considered strong enough to deter most would-be attackers.

Industry & Trade

There are also numerous public parks and recreational areas throughout the city that provide a space for the residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Some of the major districts in Gelid include:   The Portage District: Located along the coast, this district is home to the city's bustling port and serves as a hub for trade and commerce.   The Market District: This area is home to a bustling market that sells a wide range of goods, from fresh produce to handmade crafts.   The Old Town: As the name suggests, this district is the oldest part of Gelid, with narrow streets and historic buildings dating back centuries.   The University District: Home to the city's prestigious university, this area is filled with students and academics, as well as a thriving arts and culture scene.   The Industrial District: This district is where many of the city's factories and industrial facilities are located, producing goods that are exported all across the Six Realms.   The Residential Districts: Spread throughout the city, these districts are where the majority of Gelid's residents live, with a mix of apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes.

Assets

Gelid's assets include its strategic location along the coast and within the Portage Forest, which provides access to valuable natural resources and trade routes. The city's port is a major asset, as it serves as a hub for shipping and trade in the region. Despite these challenges, Gelid remained a prosperous city, thanks in large part to its skilled craftsmen and bustling trade.   In recent years, Gelid has faced new challenges as the political landscape of the Six Realms has shifted. With the rise of powerful new kingdoms and the emergence of new technologies, the city has had to adapt to maintain its position as a center of commerce and culture. Despite these challenges, Gelid remains a vibrant and dynamic city, proud of its history and looking forward to a bright future.
