What I know: they led Archon Edmund Thane toward lichdom, expecting him to make the moves he did.
so that means they wanted the war to shake out as it did? Why would they want that?
OR, something went wrong. but i'll have to come up with how their sending Edmund toward toward lichdom wasn't supposed to end in killing everything.
OR maybe it was a means to an end (some kind of huge loss of life as a prerequisite for some ritual they did. Then what was the outcome of that?

options for their involvement -99 the ending of dwarven house wars and the creation of the first companies. maybe they're the magnates of the first companies? OOOH, maybe humans (in service to Mammon!) were behind the creation of companies. Could separate this explanation from Mammon if I can't come up with why he wants to eliminate human empire.
I worry that i'm collapsing two organizations (mammon demons - where i have a very wall street idea of them. numbers) into one when they should be separate.
