Creation

Before the Multiverse and the gods there was only Chaos. Comprised of light and dark; earth and sky; good and evil; heat and cold; day and night. And so Chaos existed for time immemorial; a being unto herself made of opposites. Chaos became twisted and cruel over her long existence however, and by herself longed for another to torment. It was from this longing that the God Empress was born; the daughter of Chaos and her long awaited victim. For millennia Chaos tormented the God Empress until her daughter fled to the far reach on her mother in the hopes of raising an army against her. In desperation the God Empress cut her hand from her body in the hope the her spilled blood would awaken an ally. Instead, her fingers became the first mortal races, and her palm became the first dragon. Overcome with love for her new children and with their strength behind her, the God Empress killed her mother and from the body of Chaos she split all of the opposite forces that make up the world. She became the goddess of all things and set her new children on the Earth she had made for them.
With her beloved children on the Earth below her the God Empress became lonely, however. She again sought out a deep dark corner of creation and slit her throat. From the drops of blood that feel in to the Multiverse where born the demigods who rule over each of the other plains and from the largest drop of blood sprang Golthaarius, the God Empress's first divine child. The two where happy for some time until Golthaarius left the God Empresses side to travel the multiverse. Again over come with loneliness, the God Empress set out to the same deep dark corner of creation and again let her blood fall to the ground. The smaller drops of blood created the sprites of nature who fled to the material plan and the largest to fall created Kiennavalyriss, who stayed at her mother's side. And so the God Empress, content with her court as it was, ruled from the Heavens; not interfering in the world of mortals for thousands of years.
