kinetroch

A kinetroch (colloquially known as a troch or truck) is a self-propelled land vehicle powered by an elemental engine. Kinetroches come in many different shapes and sizes, but all function relatively similarly. The basic kinetroch consists of an elemental engine that turns an axle connected to wheels, atop which sits a cart. The engine turns the wheels, propelling the kinetroch forward. More complex kinetrochs have additional wheels, a steering device, gearing mechanisms, and a tank for the antielement.
Kinetrochs are used across the Sora in more well off areas, especially highly urbanized areas. Smaller kinetrochs, with enough space for one or two passengers, are used for personal travel or transportation of small goods. Larger kinetrochs are frequently used to transport large amounts of cargo or passengers between urban areas. Even smaller kinetrochs are somewhat expensive and are difficult to construct properly, with the pure elemental fuel rather expensive. Realms which have more recently been colonized or connected to the Sora often do not have the infrastructure to support them.
Kinetrochs are controversial in many parts of the Sora, as they create a large amount of antielements, usually without proper disposal. Additionally, poorly trained operators can easily injure themselves and others due to their heavy weight and the high speeds they can achieve. Additionally, the pure elemental fuel required is costly, difficult to collect, and could conceivably be used for other applications. Supporters of kinetrochs point out that they require less resources than raising and caring for beasts of burden, can carry more weight much faster and for longer periods at a time, and quickly allow the transport of important resources like food, medicine, and weapons from sources to destinations where they are most needed.
