The Soul Forge

The world of Gaea has seen many eras with strife and turmoil as Gods, Devil, Demons and other powerful beings have fought over it to try and claim it, and the powerful Soul Energy it generates. When the fighting dies down the mortals of the world are left to pick up the pieces and once again try and build a life for themselves.

Rising to power after one such conflict, the Graslendi Empire unified the western kingdoms and brought prosperity and peace. This peace was shattered 26 years ago when cultists of the Arch Devil Asmodeus kidnapped and sacrificed the imperial family in an attempt to open a portal between the Gaea, and the Nine Hells. The attempt failed but without the imperial family The Empire was left vulnerable. After three years of strife, assassinations, and minor skirmishes The Empire finally crumbled leave each kingdom to fight for themselves.

Now the kingdoms plot against each other to try and gain the upper hand and maybe establish a new kingdom. At the same time stories of marauding bands of goblinoids and orcs are increasing and each month sees the discovery of a new devil cult somewhere in the kingdoms. None of the Gods have yet to make a move, but whispers abound that they are mobilizing their followers and arming their priests for a new divine war. Now is the time for adventurers to step forth and make their mark upon the world and maybe seize some of the power of Soul Energy in the process.
