Zen Mu
Cherished instrument of the Lady, I bid thee greetings. She has instructed me to tell you of Zen-Mu, that you may serve her better. I am amazed that you have even happened to hear of this place, let alone are in a position to bring it to bear on her enemies, and admire you for it. Zen Mu began as the city of the first primordials, before Theion, the Empyreal Chaos, ruled. Then, it was only Mardukth. Mardukth, the goat and the mountain, among his epithets, emanated rulership and the price for such, always expanding was Zen Mu, the hole at the center of everything. Mardukth kept questioning how such a massive empire could be ruled, for indeed, then, Zen Mu was much larger than Yu-Shan is now, if dimensions can even be trusted, it was larger in many ways than the Quicksilver sea that surrounds Yu-Shan and bathes it. Then, Theion appeared, Theion, the Empyreal Chaos, fought Mardukth for the kingship, and won, but no one saw them fight, and indeed, it seems to have happened overnight. One day, Zen-Mu was floating in the Wyld, ruled over by Mardukth, next to Yu-Shan, ruled over by Theion, then the next, Zen-Mu was receding into the Wyld, and Theion ruled over both, but neglected one, and Mardukth was still there, but lessened, somehow. Then came the Primordial War, and the Solars grew proud, attacking Theion, and killing his Fetish soul, Ruvelia, His Voice to the World, transforming Theion into Malfeas, who then became the soul-prison we know today. Mardukth had been in Zen Mu, by all accounts, then, and had not been seen for some time. The great Sidereal Scholars Chejop Kejak and Rakan Thullio in their treatises on the nature of reality: Just another plane, really and Oblivion: considered harmful, explain in two parallel texts how the most likely scenario is for Mardukth to have been weakened in spirit, and sinking into the Wyld, bringing Zen Mu with it. They both claim to have visited Zen Mu through the Palanquin gate, although that is unlikely as the guardians of that place were chosen by Autochton, and would not have tolerated such interference. Although, it is still possible they employed Sidereal Astrology or Sidereal Martial Arts, to bypass any guardian, my research into what's exactly possible for them has not yet reached a limit to their potential power, for either of them. To my knowledge, should they actually have visited Zen Mu, as they claim, they are the only ones who have successfully done so, as I could find no others making similar claims, but I suspect that is more due to lack of interest in Zen Mu, than due to capability. Rakan Thullio's account also includes references to Fair Folk visiting Zen Mu through the Wyld, but never in numbers, which leads me to believe Zen Mu may be warded or protected from their kind, somehow. More research in this area is needed. The Sorrow-Siren
