Gunk

Gunk is the collequal name for Synthprotein, commonly marketed as 'Superprot'. This artifical protein is cheap to manufacture and has an extraordinary shelf life. It was designed for use in emergency situations where famine or disaster has produced a large refugee population. Giant tanker ships are used to spin up large quantities off shore and distribute quickly.

Society found other uses for it, including:

• Primary protein source for prisons, who don't deserve better
• Social services for people who can't buy better
• Soldiers who just have to grin and bear it
