Helios Guard

The Helios guard are a small set of cybernetically enhanced super soldiers used by Daybreak in its covert operations. They act as a phallanx in military operations, but are sometimes deployed in a more covert role when it is deemed too risky to use an unpowered agent.
Only seven candidates have been restored from death into the guard, five of which are still in operation. Most recently Artemis was added to the ranks, but no other candidates for new guard have been found.

Composition

Manpower

The Helios guard currently only numbers a half dozen, all of which are teenagers who have somehow been recovered from death. Is unknown how the technology behind Project Helios was able to revieve them, but being granted a second chance has secured apparent absolute loyalty from the soldiers, who fight with fanatic fervor. These teenagers all have connections to the Illuminated Church, and are considered candidates for sainthood for their service.

Weaponry

Helios soldiers are able to deploy weapons and technology which were previously considered not mobile due to their power requirements. This includes various laser and energy weapons, energy shielding, and other nano optic dynamic enhancements.

Structure

Helios is lead by Captain Sol, a former Golden Guard in the Illuminate church who cast aside her commission to take on the role by direct request of De Foix.

Training

Although treated with the same respect as comissioned officers, the Helios Guard are all fairly raw and operate with close supervision.

History

A recent addition to Daybreak, Helios has had little time to prove its worth. A recent disaster in New York City resulted in the loss of two agents, Bast and Apollo, in a conflict with unknown actors. Bast's body was recovered, but Apollo is still considered missing in action. Captain Sol blames herself for the loss of both soldiers.
