Kill Icons
The anti-authoritarian guerilla art collective known as Kill Icons has been active in Edge City for the past 7 years. The group initially gained renown by creating subversive graffiti murals throughout the city, targeting powerful institutions like the Edge City Police, Zaibatsu Tech, even Las Plagas. They cultivated a cult following, assisted by an extremely savvy social media presence and edgy image.
Not much is known about the structure of the organization, or how to attain membership. Adherents are rarely spotted, but seem to conform to a common aesthetic: dark clothing adorned with neon piping and LED effects. They are always spotted wearing masks, jet black with neon designs depicting skulls, smiley faces, and large X-motifs for eyes.
While the group's work was initially dismissed as juvenile and purposefully antagonistic, some recent advancements in style and materials have hinted at a more organized, powerful direction. The spray paints they favor for their installations seem to be impregnated with bioengineered bacteria of various varieties. Some are more benign, like bioluminescents, UV-reactives, or thermochromics. Others in more recent works have displayed more advanced capabilities - one notable mural sprayed on a prominent Tryptych building downtown was documented to have biodegraded the concrete of the building facade and replaced it with an uncharacterized biopolymer. The exact aims of the group are unknown, but these developments have underscored a potentially disruptive direction for the collective.
Structure
There appears to be no centralized leadership to Kill Icons, with various cells functioning independently of one another. Cryptically, each of their installations is signed with the moniker "Cleeve".
Public Agenda
The group maintains a strident anti-authoritarian position. While the police and gangs have been targets of their efforts, they reserve a special animosity for the corps.
