Storm Riders

The Storm Riders are brazen pirates who typically attack starships while they are in Fold-Space. They take their name from the lightning like effects when two Shift Fields interact. 
There is a drunken spacer tales that claims Storm Rider navigators can literally smell shift fields in fold-space from great distances. There is no known evidence of this ability.
